When a relationship comes to an end it is a sad and difficult time. Not all marriages last and this can be especially hard if there are children involved.
The loving relationship you had is now no more and the end is a form of grieving. There is no closure to mark the end of the marriage or the beginning of your single life.
However I offer Divorce Ceremonies which can be conducted with one or both partners (if the separation is significant) which will allow you to focus on the symbolism of the moment.
The ceremony aims to help you to be able to move forward. It is a creative process which will help to validate your difficult journey, allowing you to forgive old hurts, to reclaim your married years as something that mattered greatly and to help you start a new chapter in your life.
Divorce Ceremonies can be held either immediately after the separation or several years later. It helps you to bring acceptance, closure and healing and can take place at any time or place you want.
If you have older children you can say how much you love them and will always be there for them. You and your ex-spouse can write down what you honour about your years together and read these to each other. There are lots of ways you can symbolise your divorce which I can explain in our first meeting.
